What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Trinity Family Medical Center?

The assistant will be responsible for supporting the providers to ensure the efficient operation of every aspect of the medical office. Must be cheerful, friendly, courteous, and professional.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
> Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts before the physical examination.
>Performs injections, EKGs, and other standard office testing such as UA's, urine cultures, blood samples, etc.
>Assist the physician during procedures. Explain treatment procedures to patients and dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.
>Assist the physician with prescriptions, helping to set up tests and procedures for patients.
>Maintain/order supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean.
>Perform care coordination duties on assigned patients such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, coordinating care with other providers, making and receiving patient phone calls.
>Participation in Quality Management programs.
>Other duties as assigned. This position requires flexibility to assist with other positions in the office such as front desk, referral management, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good organizing, coordination, and customer service skills
- Computer literate; knowledge and skill in the operation of computer systems and medical records software.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
