What the Clinical Nurse Specialist will need:
- Master’s degree in nursing
- Clinical focus in area of specialty (perioperative services or heart and vascular)
- Preferred: PhD or DNP in nursing
- Current RN License in State of Michigan
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with an approved certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) is required.
- Acceptable CNS certifications include: (Adult Health, Pediatric Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, Public/ Community Health Nursing, Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health, Child/ Adolescent Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (approved by National Certification Corporation)
What the Clinical Nurse Leader will need:
- Master’s degree in Nursing with an emphasis on the Clinical Nurse Leader role and required competencies.
- Licensed Registered Nurse; must complete CNL Certification within 6 months Preferred: ACLS/TNCC/ENPC/PALS/NALS or other technical certifications as per area assigned within 12 months
- Three (3) years acute care nursing experience. Progressive experience in health care including involvement in direct patient care, educating staff, and problem solving of unit or organizational issues.
