What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Medicine Program Director position at Trinity Health Michigan?
POSITION PURPOSE
The Behavioral Medicine Program Director will design, coordinate and assist with implementation of the Behavioral Science curriculum within the Family Medicine Residency training program to meet the ACGME standards related to Family Medicine.
Part-Time benefited position scheduled 40 hours bi-weekly.
Position will be located at Trinity Health Brighton in Brighton MI
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Design didactic and experiential curricula in accordance with the core ACGME requirements as well as the Special Requirements for Residency Training in Family Medicine. Assist with the coordination and teaching of the medical students.
Coordinate and assist with implementation of the Behavioral Science curriculum within the residency training program. This includes developing goals, objectives and teaching of behavioral science topics as they relate to Family Medicine.
Provide supervision and evaluation of residents in behavioral science domains of patient care.
Attend in-patient rounds with family medicine service at least once a week to help with the management and training of behavioral issues
Participate in the supervision of the residents in their clinical practice as it relates to problems in behavioral science
To assist with the communications skills training of the residents. To include, but not be limited to, recorded or live review of direct patient encounters
Respond to personal and developmental needs of the residents while in training.
To assist in the development and implementation of methods to detect and intervene when physician impairment is a concern
To help coordinate an evaluation system for the residents, faculty and residency program
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure: Required: Licensed Psychologist. Full licensure by the Michigan Board of Psychology
Minimum Knowledge and Education: Doctorate (academic). PhD or PsyD in Psychology required.
Minimum Work Experience: Experience in clinical teaching, patient care and quality improvement. Prefer residency experience.
