What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Scheduling - Grand Haven position at Trinity Health Michigan?
Shift: Part time, 20 hrs, week.
Schedule Week Rotation:
Week 1: Mon/Tues: 830a-5pm
Week 2: Weds/Thurs/Fri 830a-5pm.
Job Duties
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, lean processes, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Schedule out patient examinations/procedures for hospital ancillary departments and communicates regularly with these departments regarding their specific requirements.
- Coordinates all required examinations/procedures in order that all can be accomplished on same visit day when appropriate.
- Works directly with all physician office managers, clerks, pre-admission review and patients to provide the required scheduling information, patient instruction sheets and patient prep sheets.
- Obtains the correct and appropriate patient demographic date, clinical history, ICD 9 Codes and insurance information for each scheduled appointment.
- Maintains interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, supervisors and co-workers.
- The employee has the personal responsibility and accountability to adhere to all policies and procedures of NOCH to ensure individual compliance in matters concerning privacy, confidentiality and security of all protected health information (PHI).
- Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements
- One year of Business Office or Hospital Scheduling experience preferred.
- Training or experience with hospital admitting procedures, computer registration, medical testing and medical terminology/insurance strongly preferred.
- High school graduate with courses in business and computers. Associates degree or higher preferred.
- CMA/LPN preferred.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language effectively
- Must be able to type 50 wpm, error-free.
- Experience with computer, copy machine, fax and other office equipment preferred.
