Job Summary
Under the medical direction of an Anesthesiologist, we are seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to develop anesthetic plans and administer anesthesia in assigned locations. This role requires strong patient care skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Develops anesthetic plans and administers anesthesia in assigned locations under the medical direction of an Anesthesiologist.
- Observes patients' physiological condition while under anesthesia and initiates corrective actions as necessary or as directed by physician.
- Performs pre- and post-operative evaluations on assigned cases, and provides accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Provides quality patient care considering age specific, developmental, and cultural needs through competent anesthesia practice.
- Assembles necessary supplies, drugs, and equipment for each case, and tests equipment to ensure proper functioning for surgical procedure.
- Reviews patients' medical records to determine types of procedures to be performed and evaluate patient's medical status.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals, and other literature, attending related seminars, conferences, and the like.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Graduate of and accredited school of Nurse Anesthesiology with a master's degree or PhD.
- CRNA certification, RN and CRNA specialty nursing license in the state of Michigan, BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.
Requirements
- Ability to work shifts as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships with colleagues and patients.
