Description:
As a CT and XR technologist at Trinity Health Michigan, you will be responsible for performing computerized tomographic (CT) scans and X-ray examinations. Your primary goal will be to obtain high-quality images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies and disease.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CT scanners to obtain images using ALARA techniques
- Prepare patients for procedures, administer oral and intravenous contrast media as needed
- Review patient charts and radiological history to determine proper protocol based on physician orders and patient history
- Adhere to department policy for identifying patients before beginning any diagnostic or interventional procedure
- Transfer patients to CT table, assist with positioning, and apply immobilization and support devices as necessary
- Administer contrast media per protocol and radiologists' orders, following established sterile techniques and methods
- Maintain documentation of infection control procedures and activities
- Apply knowledge of potential radiation hazards and observe appropriate radiation safety regulations
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ARRT(R) registered
- Prefer 6 months of CT and/or diagnostic imaging experience
Work Environment:
You will work in a fast-paced environment with rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide quality patient care.
