GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for performing the Patient Access process, completing accurate registration and pre-registration process as necessary. Accountable for insurance verification for eligibility, coordinating multiple insurance payers in proper sequence, and informing patient/doctor's office as to authorization requirements and insurance requirements for each service. Collaborates with multiple departments, insurance companies, and physician offices to financially secure patient accounts prior to service. Displays a courteous, professional manner, proactively developing strong working relationships and giving high priority to patient satisfaction.
High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Data entry skills (50-60 keystrokes per minutes). Strong technology skills and critical thinking skills are critical. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology and insurance verification. Past work experience of at least (6) six months within a physician office, hospital or clinic environment, performing registration activities or an insurance company, performing payer activities are highly desired but not required.
