What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operations Manager position at Trinity Health Michigan?
Position Summary:
This position will oversee the day-to-day operations at one of the Mercy Health campuses. To include Life Safety Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Operational Efficiency Management, Lead the operations of the CMMP (Computerized Maintenance Management Program) and continue the normal management of colleagues, payroll, and Policy Tech development.
What the Plant Operations Manager will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in electrical, civil, construction management or facilities engineering preferred or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in facilities in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of modern management principles, practices and methods with five years' experience in a health care environment.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of systems planning, scheduling and development within an overall business context.
- Demonstrate ability and skill in the management of organizational change and continuous quality improvement processes.
- Demonstrate quantitative values based problem solving and systems thinking.
- Ability to facilitate staff development through appropriate coaching, mentoring and counseling.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
- Reasonable knowledge of engineering designs, specifications and plans is necessary.
- Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of Trinity Health.
What the Plant Operations Manager will do:
- Manages resources for Plant Operations Department based on priorities.
- Develops departmental policies and procedures.
- Manages preventive maintenance programs. Maintains necessary maintenance records for all Trinity Health facilities.
- Manages and ensures compliance with applicable codes, both local and state. Insure staff awareness of such codes. Acts as the MHP representative for agency, state and municipal inspectors.
- Issues and follows-up on work assignments. Ensures proper staffing levels.
- Develops and monitors departmental capital and operating budgets for the campus they manage. Manages inventory to lowest possible levels while maintaining operations. Monitors Departmental expenses and takes steps to control costs.
