What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Angiography, Contingent position at Trinity Health Michigan?
POSITION PURPOSE
The RN Special Procedures Nurses supports Interventional Radiology – Angiography, assisting a Physician or Physician Assistant, in over 60 different procedures.
Contingent Positoin 0 FTE - Day shift, No Weekends, No Holidays.
The unit operates weekdays from 6:30 am-5:30 pm. Shifts are a mix of 8 and 10-hour shifts. Assignments are a 1:1 patient to nurse ratio. Full-time positions (1.0 FTE positions) are scheduled four, ten-hour shifts.
NOTE: Call coverage is mandatory.
Average call requirement is 3 weeknight shifts per month and weekend coverage once every 7th weekend divided between Neuro intervention and Angiography.
The callback requirement for Neuro Intervention is 40 minutes and Angiography is 60 minutes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Nurses' responsibility is to monitor and possibly sedate the patient, chart the entire case, and educate the patient on discharge instructions.
The Nurse must ensure that the patient has been prepped appropriately for their procedure by assessing patient’s allergies, medications, lab values and giving pre procedure medications as appropriate such as antibiotics.
Nurses will rotate through all radiology modalities including Angiography, Neuro Intervention, MRI, CT, X-ray and Ultrasound.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Current Michigan Nursing License
Graduation from accredited nursing program (Effective January 1, 2013, all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire.)
BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required.
Those with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) or ER (Emergency Room) are encouraged to apply.
