Position Summary & Highlights
This Medical Assistant position will provide direct support to one of our neurosurgeons and their physician assistant.
The clinic boasts a culture of collaborative, autonomous, connected, welcoming, hardworking, and rewarding.
As the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease.
Neurologic conditions treated include : Stroke, Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors, Neuromuscular dysfunction, Migraine, Multiple sclerosis, Memory conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
We also work in tandem with our neurosurgical team as well as supporting our neuro-ophthalmologist who is the only one in the state of Idaho!
What Will You Do
In addition to rooming patients and taking vitals, you will perform prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging, complete chart prep, follow up on imaging orders, calling patients with their surgery instructions, and an occasional set up for a procedure.
You will work in a great positive team environment alongside other MAs, RNs, and front office staff.
An ideal candidate
will need to be able to consistently anticipate what needs to be done for a successful visit with the surgeons. This is a very fast-paced clinic, mentally and physically, requiring rooming upwards of 20-25 patients each clinical day.
You will also be a reliable, proactive diligent worker, eager to learn, interested in the neuroscience field, and able to handle stressful situations at times.
You will be friendly and confident, enjoy providing attentive and compassionate patient care, and possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
You will enjoy working with patients of all ages and enjoy working independently and in a team environment!
Work Schedule
40 hours per week, Mondays – Fridays, around the hours of 7 : 30am – 4 : 30pm. There is no clinic on Fridays so the clinic has a rotation of who has a day off or leaves early.
Shift start and end times may vary based on provider and clinic needs.

1072 N. Liberty Street, Ste. 200, Boise, ID 83704 (On the Boise Regional Medical Center campus - I-184 & Curtis Road)
May help occasionally cover at the Boise Neurology clinic located in the same building, Ste. 303 or at the clinic in Nampa on the Nampa Medical Center campus.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required
at hire
MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies :
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP)
New Graduates
1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a
100-hour MA externship or
6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours
even with MA certification.
Medical Assistant with Experience
1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required
