What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMS Dispatcher - FT - Rotating Shifts - Waterbury position at Trinity Health Of New England?
You will be responsible for receiving incoming emergency and non-emergency calls and performs Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) services where required.
What you will do:
Enters key response information into Computer Aided Dispatch system(s).
Coordinates and dispatches ambulances and other response vehicles to assure optimal response times.
Relays information from other public safety agencies and field personnel or supervision.
Position Hours:
Full-time, rotating shift
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) Certification within three (3) months. State of Connecticut Emergency Telecommunicator Certification within one (1) year.
One-year experience as a dispatcher, and one-year experience in customer service.
Proficient map reading skills. Basic medical terminology. Exercise good independent judgement within general policy and procedural guidelines. Good typing skills (minimal of 30 words per minute). Effective customer service and communication skills during high stress situations.
