Position Purpose:
The Housekeeping Tech is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe health care environment by daily cleaning and supplying of patient rooms, nursing stations, lounges, bathrooms, offices, departments, and other assigned areas.
What you will do:
- Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed department guidelines.
- Executes proper cleaning procedure as observed by the Supervisor following patient discharges.
- Demonstrates efficient, cost-effective and safe use of housekeeping equipment and solutions as observed by the Supervisor.
- Performs other special assignments, which may be assigned by the Supervisor or required by the needs of the Hospital.
- Contributes to the philosophy of quality care and human dignity at the hospital.
- Contributes to the effective operation of the hospital by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
Physical Demands:
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or (GED) preferred; or one to three months’ related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
