Position Purpose:
At Saint Mary's Hospital, the IV Therapy Registered Nurse RN provides patient care by specializing in administering intravenous medicine, vitamins, or fluids.
What You Will Do
- You will insert and maintain peripheral IVs, midline catheters, and other types of lines.
- Administration and monitoring of medications, blood products, and fluids while calculating and documenting dosages, adjustments, protocols, and patients’ vitals during treatments.
- Collaborates with colleagues, physicians, healthcare team members, and the patient and family to ensure safe, effective, and efficient care delivery
- Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
- Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure is required.
- Experience: 1 or more years of IV Placement experience is required.
- BLS or CPR certification: Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross will be accepted.
