Trinity Health Of New England Medical Group a Medical Secretary to join our Surgical Oncology team.
The Medical Secretary functions in a supportive role of the healthcare team and is responsible for secretarial and direct patient care duties to ensure the efficient operations for the department.
What will you do:
- Performs patient greeting and check in
- Manages all incoming calls and provides exceptional customer service in person and over the phone with patient, staff and family members and triaging phone calls as appropriate
- schedules appointments and procedures for exams and regularly communicating with office staff.
- prepares and maintains patient charts and obtains pre-certifications and authorizations for patients’ exams.
- Coordinates daily patient flow. Rooms patient (including documenting chief complaint, allergy, vitals, medication
- Explains test procedures to patients and interprets purpose as directed by physician
- Maintains proficiency with office computer systems. Performs clerical duties in a fast-paced environment
- Supports clinical staff with clerical tasks with positive energy
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Medical Administrator Certificate preferred
- CPR certified.
- Minimum of one-year experience in hospital, medical environment, or health related field preferred
- Good interpersonal skills, knowledge of outpatient routines/procedures, good judgment appropriate to assigned responsibilities
