What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Coordinator - Neurology position at Trinity Health Of New England?
Position Purpose:
The Practice Coordinator is responsible for leading the administrative and clinical-support staff while providing support to the Practice Management team. They will be responsible for ensuring that the team is providing excellent customer service and patient care.
What you will do:
- Ensures the medical practice team is adhering to all policies and procedures.
- May have to fill in for absentee staff, such as Medical Receptionists.
- Acts as a liaison between staff, clinicians, and management.
- Will be the point of contact for guidance on functions for medical administrative and clinical personnel when the Practice Manager is unavailable.
- Informs staff and Provider PTO to other Practice Managers to ensure office coverage for staff during days off and vacations. Utilizes universal float pool and communicates with other Practice Coordinators to obtain coverage
- Works with clinical staff to ensure timely responses to patient requests such as prescription refills, returned patient phone calls, etc.
- Oversees pre-op assessment, workflow, and surgical/procedural scheduling.
- Maintains an open line of communication with Providers, staff, and Management to maintain an effective and efficient work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate: additional business or Associate’s degree desired.
- Minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in a physician’s office required. Prior experience with patient management computer systems desired. Good understanding of medical terminology. Knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook email and calendar
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required. Demonstrated ability in leadership and managing a team.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organization and communication skills required.
