Position Purpose
Supervises and leads facility Patient Access services staff. Duties include interaction with Management, Patient Business Services, Patient Care Services and Hospital Information Services to guarantee that Hospital and Departmental requirements are met. Serves as a resource to access and non-access staff with regard to revenue cycle operations.
What you will do
Responsible for scheduling and staff coverage for designated functional in order to provide adequate and appropriate staffing according to patient volume 24/7
Facilitates customer friendly patient access to all hospital services
Supervises department activities, personnel and resolves staff grievances
Selects, trains, assigns, monitors, and evaluates staff
Assists in implementation and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
College level certification or degree completion in a Business or Health Care related field desired
CHAA/CHAM certification desired
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Revenue Cycle; Patient Access and/or Patient Financial Services and experience with hospital registration and scheduling systems required
Previous supervisory experience with strong scheduling, preregistration and insurance knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations and third-party payer billing requirements, medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding required
