Position Purpose:
Following established policies and procedures, performs and records ultrasound diagnostic tests of patients' pelvic, abdominal and arterial and vascular areas. Obtains information about internal organs, fluid accumulations, blood flow, masses or development of fetuses for use in diagnosis of disease, study of malfunction of organs, prenatal examination of fetuses and placenta, and the like. Ensures ultrasound tests are of high quality and records results. Assists physicians in carrying out examinations, consultations, sterile procedures, and the like. Performs general clerical duties such as report filing and distribution, answering telephones, taking and relaying messages, photocopying materials, and the like.

Position Purpose:

Ensures ultrasound tests are of high quality and records results. Assists physicians in carrying out examinations, consultations, sterile procedures, and the like. Performs general clerical duties such as report filing and distribution, answering telephones, taking and relaying messages, photocopying materials, and the like.
What Will You Do
- Ensures proper identification of the patient, escorts patient to the exam room and explains procedure to patient. Assists and monitors patient throughout the exam.
- Photographs visual image of organs shown on display modules. Records tests results, identification information and the like, and files results of sonography.
- Assisting physicians during sterile procedures such as amniocentesis, cyst puncture, thoracentesis, biopsies, and so forth.
- Performs quality checks on equipment in accordance with department procedure.
- Produces the highest quality radiographs and digital images with the lowest practical dose of radiation in accordance with procedure ordered.
- Associate’s degree in Science or equivalent post-secondary education required. Must be a graduate of an accredited diagnostic radiography program.
- A.R.R.T. registered and current State license in radiography and mammography.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical internship and two (2) years of post-educational experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Requires a strong working knowledge of radiographic equipment.
