What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Verification Representative position at Trinity Health System?
- JOB SUMMARY
- Responsible for timely verification of medical insurance benefits, calling private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid to obtain benefit information, determining insurance compatibility with health care provider. Understands and upholds the basic philosophies of registration functions, revenue cycle and accounts receivable. Maintains current knowledge of and adheres to payer and regulatory guidelines for medical insurance claims processing and reimbursement.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- High School Graduate.
- Business/Healthcare Related Associate Degreee preferred.
- Training and Experience
- 2 years previous experience in Registration/Patient Accounts or Physician billing office required or combination of experience/education.
- Previous office experience, prefer background knowledge of health insurance, Medicare/Medicaid plans.
- Typing, computer skills, attention to detail and excellent customer service skills required.
