Job Summary / Purpose
This role assists Manager of Patient Access with management oversight of the registration and admitting. Responsible for supervising the intake and assessment of patients, and ensuring that quality patient care is provided in a safe, effective manner according to established policies and procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring that standards of patient care are established and maintained in the respective areas. This includes management and oversight of staffing, compliance with state and federal regulations. This role may provide services to various patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. This role is also responsible for ensuring complete and accurate processes are completed for the front end of the revenue cycle.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates leadership in responding to hospital and community needs. Adjusts intake and access process to respond to organizational and customer needs.
- Provides formal new employee orientation, including telephone skills, computer and phone operating systems in registration and admitting.
- Schedules staff effectively, taking into account times of highest call volume and highest assessment and admission times; along with coordinating PTO requests, and posts monthly schedule in timely fashion.
- Facilitates clinically appropriate admissions to organization services, congruent with needs and resources of caller.
