All employees of diocesan entities assist the Bishop of Manchester in serving the parishes, schools, and institutions of the Catholic Church in New Hampshire.The Accounting Administrator position is accountable to the Director of Finance & Operations, Trinity High School and St. Joseph Junior High School, and works collaboratively with the accounting team to achieve successful results.The Accounting Administrator position supports the accounting department for Trinity High School and St. Josephs Junior High and works closely with the part time Accounting Coordinator. This is an integral part of our school operations and integrity and confidentiality is of upmost importance.
Inherent in the position are the responsibilities to ensure excellence in the Catholic culture, best practices in business operations, and customer service. The hours for this position are 40 hours per week Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Process payroll biweekly for all staff using Paylocity softwareProcess new hire paperwork including the benefits and insurance programs of the schoolProcessing vendor bills daily including approvals and posting in ParishSoft softwareProcessing employee expense reimbursements daily including approvals and posting in general ledgerProcessing AP and Employee Expense checks weeklyReceiving and posting tuition payments in FACTS softwareReceiving and posting donation checks weekly in coordination with Advancement DeptSending tuition statements monthly and collecting past due amountsBank and account reconciliations and month end journal entries as neededOther duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED: High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred in business, finance, accounting, non-profit management or related fieldPassionate about and committed to the Mission of the Diocese of Manchester and the pursuit of growth and success of Catholic schoolsMinimum 2-4 years of accounting experience in a business, education or non-profit settingExcellent written and oral communication, financial management and analytical skillsCapacity to manage multiple responsibilities and activities simultaneouslyProficiency in accounting style software, including Microsoft ExcelAbility to form and maintain positive relationships with all customers Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skillsIt is required that the incumbent be a practicing Catholic by being in good standing with the Church and actively participating in parish lifeENVIRONMENT: Office environment - clean, well-lit, environmentally comfortable, no fumes or airborne particlesMinimal exposure to chemicals related to copier equipment and general office solventsMinimal requirement to reach at or above shoulder level; occasional reaching below shoulder level requiredFrequent grasping and manipulation of equipment and controlsAbility to tolerate prolonged sitting and/or standing and to lift up to approximately 25 pounds to waist high level whenever necessaryMobility includes regular sitting, some standing and walking
