Job Summary:
The Assistant Supply Coordinator will assist in managing the inventory and distribution of medical supplies essential for delivering quality hospice care at Trinity Hospice Care of Georgia. This role involves daily travel within a defined area to ensure that hospice care locations, including patient homes and facilities, are fully stocked with the necessary supplies. Candidates with a CNA background are highly preferred due to their familiarity with patient care needs. The role requires the ability to transport and unload supplies, often from pallets, making a truck, SUV, or van necessary for the job.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of medical supplies and materials required for patient care. Ensure timely restocking of all locations within the designated area.
- Supply Distribution: Travel daily to various patient homes and hospice care centers to deliver and distribute supplies as needed. Unload pallets and ensure the correct supplies are stocked at each location.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to understand supply needs and adjust delivery schedules based on patient volume or changes in care settings.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all inventory management practices comply with hospice regulatory requirements. Properly document supply deliveries and maintain accurate records.
- Physical Labor: Regularly unload and distribute supplies, including moving and lifting pallets in various weather conditions or environmental settings.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. CNA certification or background in patient care preferred but not required.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in inventory management, supply coordination, or logistics, especially in a healthcare setting.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with medical supplies used in hospice care.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and administrative teams.
- Proficient in inventory tracking software and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and unload supplies from pallets.
- Must have a truck, SUV, or van capable of transporting supplies.
- Regular exposure to varying weather conditions and ability to travel daily within the designated area.
Working Conditions:
- This position operates in both warehouse and healthcare environments, with daily travel required to distribute supplies.
- Employee must be comfortable working outdoors and in various care environments.
- Ability to work in environments where patients may be present, ensuring a calm and professional demeanor.
