We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to join our team on the South Coast. We will be serving the Fairhaven, Swansea area (10-20 mile radius) only - LIMITED driving distance requirements for a more a flexible work/life balance.
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary team in Massachusetts. The Hospice Chaplain will provide spiritual and emotional support to terminally ill patients and their families, addressing their spiritual needs and enhancing their quality of life during a challenging time. The ideal candidate will have a strong faith background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing compassionate care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families in accordance with their individual beliefs and preferences
- Conduct spiritual assessments to identify patients' spiritual needs and concerns
- Offer prayer, scripture readings, and spiritual counseling to patients and families
- Assist patients and families in exploring and addressing issues of meaning, purpose, and forgiveness
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide bereavement support to families following the death of a loved one
- Document spiritual care services and interactions in an accurate and timely manner
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and in-service education programs
- Provide support and guidance to staff members regarding spiritual care issues
Qualifications:
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) or equivalent theological degree from an accredited seminary or religious institution
- Ordination or endorsement by a recognized religious or spiritual faith group
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a chaplain, preferably in a hospice or healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
