QAPI Specialist Summary
In short, you will help support the quality and compliance position of our business, directly reporting to the VP of Clinical Services. This role will travel approx. 50% of the time, with the amount varying by time of the year, supporting our 12 hospice programs in 3 states. This is a 100% remote role.
What You Will Do Every Day:
- Complete ongoing, comprehensive, and integrated assessment of the quality and appropriateness of the care provided, including services provided under arrangement, company-wide.
- This person will do site visits on a quarterly basis, identifying trending factors, present those items of non-compliance to the team and also compile that data for our VP of Clinical Services on a dashboard.
- Create compliance and quality education materials and present on that material.
- Monitor all service providers for effective interchange and coordination of care.
- Prepare a quarterly Quality Improvement report as part of the annual agency evaluation.
- Ensure agency compliance with all local, state, and federal law relating to the operations of the agency.
- Assist with the direction of programs through delegation of responsibility to administrative and supervisory staff.
- Assist with establishment of company public relationships program for interpretation of the agency’s services and to foster good working relationships with physicians and community agencies. (Let's rework this to reflect more about program acquisition/creation of new hospice quality systems.
Background You Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited college/university.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- At least three years of experience in a hospice-specific quality or compliance role required.
- Background as a regional or above quality or compliance leader in the hospice space specifically.
- Experience in leading a quality or compliance department in the hospice space is heavily preferred.
- In depth knowledge and background in both CAHPS (consumer and palliative surveys) and HIS (hospice item set).
- Strong ability to develop strong working relationships with all levels of staff.
- Knowledge of Consolo preferred. Experience in EMR integration desired.
- Background in developing educational content relative to hospice specific quality and compliance measures.
