- POSITION SUMMARY
- Under the general direction of the Health Information Director, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the overall operation of the Health Information Management Department (HIM).
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses and Certifications Required
- None; Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
- Educational Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent, related college or technical school courses, or certificate or degree in business administration or equivalency in years of experience preferred.
- Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in a secretarial, clerical or office assistant role preferred.
- Special Skills or Training Requirements
- Demonstrates advanced communication, problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Preference given to those proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong ability to apply critical thinking.
