- POSITION SUMMARY
- The cardiac/vascular sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease and new procedures as they evolve.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Licenses and Certifications Required
- RDCS, CCI, RDMS, or ARRT(S) registered (required within 2 years when NDMIRTBE license is conditional)
- NDMIRTBE licensed or NDMIRTBE conditional license
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare provider BLS required within 30 days of hire
- Educational Requirements

Echocardiography/Vascular Technologist:
- RDCS, CCI, RDMS, or ARRT registered (required within 2 years when NDMIRTBE license is conditional)
- RVT optional
- Will be cross trained into pediatric echo and vascular ultrasound if no formal education has been completed
- Keep current compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements

- Experience Requirements
- Experience preferred but not required

- Special Skills or Training Requirements
- Graduate of formal Echocardiography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is preferred.
