What are the responsibilities and job description for the CHARGE NURSE position at Trinity Hospitals?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Professional Charge Nurse in surgery works under the direction of the OR Unit Manager and the Director of Surgical Services, and/or the Nursing Supervisor. The Charge RN will function as the surgery schedule manager and is responsible for coordinating surgery start times with transporting of patients to pre-op holding and the surgical suites. Daily room assignments of surgery staff will be provided by the Charge RN along with individual job duties. The Charge RN will be competent in surgi-net and computer skills. Staff compliance with policy and procedures in the Operating Room setting will be maintained by the Charge RN. Billing information to clinics and other hospitals will be logged by the Charge RN. He/she will demonstrate appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care, including those in the patient population served. This care will be delivered in accordance with established standards of performance utilizing the AORN Standards, Recommended Practices and Guidelines. The appropriate candidate will be a graduate of an approved professional school of nursing and have a current valid RN licensure in the state of North Dakota. Must have at least two years of OR experience. Must be efficient, able to make appropriate judgments, physically able to withstand long hours of work, standing and heavy lifting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Licenses and Certifications Required
Current or temporary RN license in ND or compact RN licensure.
CNOR certification preferred, not required.
Educational Requirements
RN program as evidenced by licensure.
Official diploma or transcript from the school/university from where Degree was received.
Experience Requirements
Past OR experience required. Leadership skills required

Must be efficient, able to make appropriate judgments.
