What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Programmer position at Trinity IT Services?
Objective: Facilitate training program for HPE NonStop (aka Tandem) resources using the recruit-train-deploy model initially in Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Baseline skills (prior to training):
- Software engineering basics: analytical, testing, problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the C programming language. Target 3-5 years development experience.
- Prefer experience working in an online transaction processing (OLTP) environment. Any experience in Payments a plus.
Training curriculum (vendor to propose):
- HPE NonStop concepts and facilities (can base upon HPE curriculum): GUARDIAN, TACL, TEDIT, etc.
- C programming on NonStop (primary programming focus).
- An introduction to TAL and COBOL programming on NonStop (basics).
- Intro to ENSCRIBE, SQL/MP, PATHWAY, INSPECT fundamentals.
- A basic introduction to the Buypass platform and Payment processing
Expectations post boot-camp:
- Able to login and navigate the Buypass NonStop environment.
- Setup a test environment and debug the application (with team guidance).
- Able to pick up basic tech stories which include features from business discretionary work and more complex logic. Aligned to a single component of the platform.
