What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Worker Substitute position at Trinity Lutheran Child Care and Learning Center?
- Plan activities that facilitate each child’s emotional, cognitive, communicative, perceptual motor, physical and social development. Activities shall include: dramatic role playing, cognitive, visual, and auditory development, small and large motor skills development, cooperative learning and team building.
- Meet weekly with the Director to discuss upcoming lessons, activities, and assessments of the previous week’s lessons.
- Work with Pastor on the religious aspects of the program of Trinity Lutheran Child Care and Learning Center and meet with the Pastor on a regular basis.
Other essential duties and responsibilities include the following;
- Collect and gather all materials for daily lessons
- Writing daily lesson plans with state standards
- Observe and monitor children’s play activities
- Create a monthly calendar to share with parents information about themes and activities
- Communicate with Parents through newsletters and the bulletin board.
- Be responsible for the daily sign-out sheet and submit it to the director at the end of the shift
- Instruct children in health and personal habits such as eating, toilet habits, and developing positive self-esteem
- Read to children; teach simple painting, drawing, handcrafts, and songs
- Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games
- Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas
- Help children with homework and school work as directed in the Parental Agreement
