Job Title: Accounting Assistant
Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our Accounting Department. The successful candidate will assist with document management, research support, payment processing, and maintaining company records. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer operations is required, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and vendors. The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in maintaining accuracy in accounting operations and assisting with day-to-day tasks across various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage documents for all properties within the Company portfolio.
- Communicate with vendors via Vendor Cafe to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Perform administrative tasks such as sorting incoming mail, filing, and reception duties as needed.
- Process invoices, ensure accuracy in coding, and enter them into the database.
- Handle manual check payments, mortgage wires, and utility payments on a weekly basis.
- Monitor bank balances and assist with payment processing for the bi-monthly check run.
- Process and mail payments to vendors.
- Assist with monthly subsidy payments and record miscellaneous income.
- Perform additional duties as needed to ensure smooth operations within the Company.
Qualifications:
- No supervisory responsibilities required.
- Directly reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and handle various office equipment. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required. Periodic travel and physical activities, including climbing, kneeling, and crouching, may also be needed. The work environment is generally quiet to moderately noisy.
Specific logistical details include, but are not limited to, the following:
- 40 hours per week
- Salary commensurate with experience
- 15 days Paid Time Off
