Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in payroll software, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and up to date payroll laws.
Duties
- Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time using QuickBooks.
- Perform data entry tasks related to employee hours, deductions, and bonuses.
- Manage journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper debits and credits are recorded in the general ledger.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of payroll accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
- Prepare and file necessary tax documents related to payroll, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies or concerns in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
- Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll laws to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role.
- Proficiency in payroll management software (QuickBooks)
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of debits and credits as well as journal entries is required.
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll processing is preferred.
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with employees and management.
