Job Summary: Trinity Preschool of Berwyn seeks an Executive Director to lead its vibrant and inclusive preschool community.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and empower the team of teachers, assistant teachers, and staff in their respective roles.
- Recruit, hire, and train staff to fill vacant positions.
- Observe and evaluate staff annually, providing constructive and respectful feedback.
- Support staff in identifying and assisting children with special needs, facilitating connections with the Chester County Intermediate Unit as necessary.
- Guide and assist staff in developing strategies for addressing special needs or behavioral concerns and communicating sensitive issues with parents.
- Ensure the implementation of all supports and strategies outlined in children's IEPs.
- Hold monthly staff meetings to plan, address concerns, and share updates.
- Plan and implement professional development opportunities based on staff needs, evaluations, interests, and emerging research.
- Prepare and present annual Letters of Agreement to staff.
Financial Management:
- Collaborate with the Treasurer and Executive Committee of the Board of Directors to prepare the annual budget.
- Develop and allocate budgets for staff salaries, supplies, materials, and equipment in a manner that balances fairness and equity for teachers and staff with the financial sustainability and long-term goals of the school.
- Review and authorize purchases as needed.
Program Management:
- Review, approve, and recommend modifications to educational programs and activities.
- Monitor instructional methods and content to ensure developmental appropriateness and effectiveness.
- Evaluate programs regularly to ensure they meet state licensing requirements and NAEYC Accreditation Standards.
- Collect and analyze data to forecast enrollment trends and curriculum needs.
- Plan and implement strategies to promote and advertise Trinity Preschool to prospective families.
Communication:
- Provide content for a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed about school events, policies, and philosophies.
- Update the annual Parent Handbook to outline school policies and procedures as needed in response to the school's evolving needs.
- Maintain open communication with staff through personal meetings, daily interactions, email, and posted notices.
- Prepare and distribute annual surveys to parents, analyzing feedback to address needs and improve programs.
- Interact with children, families, and staff in a caring, sensitive, and respectful manner.
Administration:
- Prepare and present a monthly report for the Board of Directors.
- Respond to requests and suggestions from the Board of Directors.
- Collaborate with the church liaison and administration to maintain safety, cleanliness, and proper functioning of the facility.
- Develop an annual flow chart with a clear visual representation of the school's key responsibilities, events, and deadlines to share with staff/teachers and the Board of Directors.
- Provide classroom support by working directly with children when needed.
Requirements:
- Hold a B.S. (M.S. preferred) in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or early childhood special education.
- Pennsylvania State Director's Credential preferred.
- Have 3-5 years of classroom teaching experience (preferred).
- Possess at least three years of program administration experience, with NAEYC-accredited programs preferred.
