Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks a seasonal Early Childhood Liaison/Admissions Officer from September 2025 to February 2026. This hourly position reports to the Director of Admissions, Grades K-4 and plays a vital role in shaping a well-rounded kindergarten class. The Early Childhood Liaison will visit preschools across New York City, organize weekend playgroups at Trinity, and observe prospective students in school environments. Preschool/playgroup observation is a key component of the admissions process, requiring extensive experience with four- and five-year-olds to assess their classroom engagement effectively.
This position builds strong relationships with preschool leaders, coordinating visits and facilitating deeper discussions about kindergarten applicants.

Primary Responsibilities Include
- Schedule and visit approximately 40 preschools to observe applicants and engage with teachers and directors;
- Provide timely written reports of all application observations;
- Maintain an up-to-date record of the status of all candidates and adjust preschool visit schedules accordingly;
- Collaborate with the admissions team throughout the season to determine which applicants may need additional observation via playgroups or preschool visits;
- Oversee weekend playgroups at Trinity, including recruiting teacher participants, assigning responsibilities, gathering materials, and managing sessions from start to finish;
- Assist with other admissions-related tasks as needed, including substituting as a child tester; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education is required.
- Prior early childhood teaching experience is needed.
- Ability to manage multiple preschool visits, maintain records, and coordinate playgroups efficiently;
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
- Ability to connect with young children, teachers, and preschool leaders in a professional and approachable manner;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Keen ability to assess children's classroom behavior, abilities, and engagement;
- Proficiency with technology and software applications including Microsoft Office and Google Suite;
- Warm, personable, reliable, flexible, and patient;
- Must be able to work collaboratively with the admissions team and other colleagues; and
- Strong work ethic and commitment to the School’s mission.
