Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West of Manhattan, seeks a Teacher of Theater Arts, Grades K-12 beginning September 2025. Salary range: $72,200 - $171,200 (salary based upon experience)
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts (a Master’s degree is preferred);
- At least five years of teaching experience in theater arts;
- A comprehensive knowledge of theater history, dramatic literature, and various styles and techniques;
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities;
- Skill at engaging a diverse range of learners and fostering their artistic growth; and
- A proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Developing and teaching a dynamic theater arts curriculum in grades K-4 while collaborating with classroom teachers to support their curricular goals;
- Directing the 5/6 Musical and 7/8 Musicals;
- Teach beginning theater skills class to students in Grades 7/8;
- Overseeing or assisting with plays and musical theater productions, including repertoire selection, directing, casting, scheduling rehearsals, coaching performers, and coordinating with technical staff;
- Instructing students in theater fundamentals, including voice and projection, movement, improvisation, character development, and acting methodology;
- Creating a supportive classroom environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and respect.
- Collaborating with colleagues to integrate theater arts into interdisciplinary projects;
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Staying up-to-date on theater education trends and incorporate innovative methods into teaching.
- A portfolio or examples of past theater productions;
- A willingness to participate in our school culture; and
- A commitment to professional development in theater education.
