POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direction and immediate supervision of the CST Director, the Community Support Relief Staff would be a resource for the clients during the weekend. This staff would ensure a positive, therapeutic environment that supports persons served. This staff would perform the core responsibilities of the CST team including proper documentation of treatment plans, providing transportation to appointments, and outings as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of Contextual Behavior Therapy principles and evidence-based interventions
  • Advises the CST Director of any immediate or non-immediate medical problems regarding any program participants as well as any unusual incidents.
  • Conceptualizes client's behaviors in a empathic manner, drawing upon a working knowledge of behavioral principals with the support and supervision of the CST Director
  • Conducts group sessions and occasionally community outings transporting clients on medical appointments, grocery shopping, etc. based on a weekly schedule
  • Meets or exceeds benchmark of service billing set for their role by the Clinical Director and Network 4 Director
  • Knowledge of initiating and completing the IM-CANS assessment for each client.
  • Submits documentation for services in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrates knowledge of correct procedures for Medicaid billing
  • Maintains awareness of the building milieu and intervenes as appropriate with evidence-based interventions to assist clients in maintaining effective behaviors that promote healthy social and psychological adjustment.
  • Coordinates with team members when necessary, including but not limited to property manager, nurses, Clinical Director, Associate Director, and Network Director
  • Demonstrates an ability to interact with clients in an effective manner that promotes a therapeutic environment
  • Demonstrates readiness to work in coordination with the team to ensure appropriate coverage of essential program functions.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of and willingness to utilize the third-wave contextual behavior therapy models
  • Able to make independent decisions and problem solve
  • Able to deal effectively with staff, program participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
  • Able to promote good staff relations and employee morale
  • Able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, necessary for providing quality care
  • Able to execute policies, procedures, and regulations and when necessary, explain them to program participants, family members, members of the community, and staff from other agencies
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strongly self-motivated

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's in progress
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree preferred

Program: Community Support

  • Work Location: New Lenox, IL and Lockport, IL
  • Work Hours:
    • Minimum 4 shifts a month – Opportunities for additional shifts pending program needs
    • 6–8-hour shifts
    • Saturday and Sunday (Flexible start and end times)

Salary is based on qualifications:

  • Bachelors $25 to $30 per hour
  • Master's Degree (QMHP) $35 to $40 per hour
  • LSW/LPC $45 per hour
  • LCSW/LCPC $50 per hour
  • As a non-for-profit organization, employees may be eligible for federal student loan forgiveness programs

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Example Physical Functions

  • Be able to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted
  • Be able to push and pull 75 pounds
  • Be able to complete deep knee squats
  • Be able to push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Operate motor vehicles
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
  • Physical activities that could be used include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
