Position Overview
Under the direction and immediate supervision of the Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Director, the Therapist Relief Staff would be a resource for the program participants during regular day program hours when full-time staff are unavailable. This PRN staff would ensure there are no gaps in therapy and a positive, therapeutic environment that supports persons served. This staff would perform the core responsibilities of the PSR team including group therapy, individual therapy, community outings, case consultations, and proper documentation of Medicaid billing notes.
Work Location: Elwood, Joliet, and Lockport, IL
Work Hours: Minimum 4 shifts a month; maximum 16 hours a week (2 8-hour shifts)
Program hours: 8:30-5, Monday through Friday
Salary: Bachelors $25 per hour; Master’s Degree (QMHP) $35 per hour; LSW/LPC $45 per hour; LCSW/LCPC $50 per hour

Essential Functions
- Engages individuals in group therapy, individual therapy, community outings as scheduled and assigned
- Works under the PSR director and with a team of therapists to utilize effective evidence-based interventions
- Demonstrates a working knowledge therapeutic techniques and principles
- Conceptualizes behaviors in an empathic manner, drawing upon a working knowledge of behavioral principals with the support and supervision of the PSR Director
- Meets or exceeds benchmark of service billing set for their role by the Clinical Director and Network 4 Director
- Submits documentation for services in a timely fashion
- Demonstrates knowledge of correct procedures for Medicaid billing
- Maintains awareness of the milieu and intervenes as appropriate with evidence-based interventions to assist clients in maintaining effective behaviors that promote healthy social and psychological adjustment
- Coordinates with team members when necessary to ensure effective behaviors within the milieu
- Demonstrates an ability to interact with clients in an effective manner that promotes a therapeutic environment
- Demonstrates readiness to work in coordination with the team to ensure appropriate coverage of essential program functions. This may include volunteering for additional assignments above and beyond regularly scheduled responsibilities.
- Communicates any identified problem areas or concerns to the PSR Director
- Participates in scheduled staff meetings
- Works with the PSR Director to facilitate activities for persons served, including but not limited to camping trip, family and friends event, Halloween party, Holiday party, and Thanksgiving celebration
- Works collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team, which includes residential staff and Supportive Employment, in helping persons supported achieve their goals
- Advises the PSR Director of any immediate or non-immediate medical problems regarding any program participants
- Knowledge of and willingness to utilize the third-wave contextual behavior therapy models
- Able to make independent decisions and problem solve
- Able to deal effectively with staff, program participants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Able to promote good staff relations and employee morale
- Able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, necessary for providing quality care
- Able to execute policies, procedures, and regulations and when necessary, explain them to program participants, family members, members of the community, and staff from other agencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strongly self-motivated
- Bachelors required
- Master’s Degree (or in grad school) preferred
- Be able to lift over 40 pounds from floor to waist unassisted
- Be able to push and pull 75 pounds
- Be able to complete deep knee squats
- Be able to push wheelchairs up to 200 pounds
- Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Operate motor vehicles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment
- Physical activities that could be used include: driving, balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, and repetitive motion.
