Position Title: Buildings and Grounds Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Buildings and Grounds Coordinator is responsible for the general maintenance and repairs for all church facilities including buildings, grounds and equipment; and partnering with outside vendors and servant volunteers when necessary. Some weekends, holidays, nights and occasionally on-call may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect and maintain all church facilities to ensure they continue to function effectively including buildings, grounds, and equipment (i.e., power tools, power equipment, and hand tools)
- Perform ongoing maintenance and repairs for all facilities and equipment, including light fixture installation, thermostat management, painting, wall-mounted items, etc.
- Assemble and set up furniture and equipment
- Exercise independent judgment in addressing daily concerns regarding maintenance, repairs, and grounds
- Coordinate with outside vendors for all contracted maintenance systems, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, emergency systems, lawncare, and irrigation
- Upkeep of church vehicles, including washing and general maintenance
- Assist in upkeep of church grounds, including power washing, trimming tree branches, clearing sidewalks and playgrounds, and maintaining the memorial garden
- Supervise and assist custodians and servant volunteers with set-ups as part of the daily operations of the facility and ensure all church facilities are clean, well maintained and inviting
- In collaboration with the Director of Facilities, maintain up to date inventory records of all church fixtures and equipment
- Recommend budget needs for the maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment
- Invite, train, support, and coordinate servant volunteers in caring for facilities

- Assist and perform other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- General knowledge and experience in the following areas: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, emergency systems (fire, safety, etc.), vehicle maintenance
- Able to inspect, diagnose problems and determine best methods to correct them as well as anticipate future needs
- Strong problem-solving, self-starting, listening and multi-tasking skills
- Team player mentality, and able to work independently and be self-directed and self-disciplined
- Must have a valid driver’s license (drivers background check is required for this position)

- General knowledge and experience in the following areas: general vehicle maintenance, basic computer skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
