Job Description:
Assist PI in laboratory research activities and in laboratory classes. Performs general maintenance of the laboratory; performs molecular biology and immunology assays, including extraction of nucleic acids, real time PCR and RT-PCR, exosome isolation, gel electrophoresis, ultracentrifugation, conducting molecular experiments with viruses, cells, and proteins; collecting and analyzing data;training and supervision of undergraduate research students; and general assistance with experimental protocols and data collection.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Time Essential- Assists principal investigator and undergraduate students in the laboratory in experimentation and data collection.
- Maintains the laboratory to enable a safe and organized research environment.
- Maintains official laboratory records verifying documentation.
- Trains and supervises undergraduate students in basic research protocols and safety.
- Maintains laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Communicates regularly through reports and discussion.
