Job Description:
The School Leadership Coach provides regular, on-site coaching to graduate students completing the Master of Educational Leadership (MEdL) program, and teaches graduate-level courses in the Department of Education. The School Leadership Coach adheres to program alignment with Texas Education Agency standards and requirements for the certification of principals as instructional leaders, supports the professional growth of students and collaborates with district and campus partners, as they bridge educational theory and practice in their coaching.. As part of the job responsibilities, as a member of the Department of Education part-time faculty, the School Leadership Coach teaches up to two graduate-level courses (across the three semester program) on instructional leadership, internship experiences, data decision-making, and/or educational policy and advocacy. As a member of the Center for Educational Leadership (CEL) team, the School Leadership Coach plays an important support role in planning and coordinating leadership and learning events and programs for the broader San Antonio and Bexar County educational community.
Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
Work 20 hours per week (Part-Time) starting pay at $30,000.00, 12 month position;
Coach graduate students in on-site school visits, to support their development as school leaders and completion of internship and course requirements;
Conduct regular observations of and provide feedback that reflects the principal as instructional leader standards;
Prepare students s for the state certification exam and monitor their identified problems of practice;
Ensure that students’ leadership activities are aligned to the Texas Principal Standards;
Assist students in understanding the organizational context, boundaries and instructional goals of their campus;
Meet weekly with Trinity University educational leadership team for planning and collaboration of the program activities and events; coordinate with program leaders and other coaches to support the collective enterprise and the program’s cohort model, cohere to shared practice and integrated courses and coaching;
Ensure students are complying with all TEA requirements and deadlines to remain in good standing in program matriculation;
Participate in professional development and/or training related to leadership development, field supervision, coaching for equity;
Teach a minimum of one graduate course per academic year in the Department of Education;
Build relationships with school/district partners and serve as liaison to principal mentors;
Engage in the recruitment of potential students and admission and orientation processes for incoming students; and,
Duties related to programming, leadership development and event coordination associated with the Center for Educational Leadership.

Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in education or a related field, Doctoral Degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in Education or related field preferred;
- 5 or more years as a principal and/or educational leader in schools that mirror the diversity of students and families of San Antonio communities (experience in San Antonio preferred);
- Teacher certification in Texas, at least three year of teaching experience, and a proven/evidenced record of successful teaching and leadership in K12 school settings that mirror the diversity of students and families of San Antonio communities (experience in San Antonio preferred); and,
- A record of successful teaching, advising, and field-based coaching and supervision of educational leadership students in a university/higher education setting.
