Summary:
The Sr Software Test Engineer is responsible for evaluating software solutions to ensure that it meets the specifications and requirements before being released to our customers. The Sr Software Test Engineer needs to identify functional, performance, or usability issues and suggest resolutions. Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. In addition, Sr Software Test Engineer ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. Participates in designing and implementing testing processes and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of the Product to understand the requirements and client issues. This role also expects the person to help other junior employees.
What You'll Do
- Responsible for end-to-end testing activities.
- Develop and execute test plans consisting of both manual and automated test cases to validate software functionality against requirements and specifications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, report and track software defects and issues.
- Perform functional, performance, and regression testing of software products.
- Report test results and defects to the development team and other stakeholders and work on the resolution.
- Provide suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of the software development process across teams.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies and tools.
- Active participation in planning, analysis and estimation of backlog requirements.
- Configure test environments with different platform combinations for testing.
- Ability to work in a close team environment, and engage with other departments.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and still meet job requirements and tight deadlines.
- Ability to help other junior employees.
- Learn automation tool (if new to automation) and automate the test cases.
- Learn performance testing tool (if new to performance testing) and run the performance test cases.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- 4-6 years of related professional experience in Software testing.
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Strong working knowledge of Workday integrations, preferably with financial operations systems.
- Hands on experience on functional, systems testing including Test Planning, Test Cases Design, Test Data Setup, Defect Management, Test Execution, Traceability Matrix and Test Metrics.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to effectively collaborate with all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to both analyze and troubleshoot issues around product, third party software and databases.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet internal and external deadlines.
- Results and quality oriented with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently under minimum supervision in Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Previous experience with Reconciliation and/or month-end close applications is preferred.
