Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and improvement of products by conducting complex experiments, managing product specifications, and overseeing the creation of critical design control documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development & Testing: Design, test, and improve products through complex experiments. Develop and execute protocols, analyze results, and provide actionable recommendations based on engineering principles.
- Documentation & Reporting: Generate detailed work instructions, test methods, and prototypes. Create engineering models and drawings to define product and process specifications.
- Design Control & Compliance: Develop and update complex design control documents such as requirement specifications, risk documents (DFMEA, DRD, design verification plans), and ensure alignment with risk management procedures.
- Project Management: Lead and execute engineering project plans, including design verification processes.
- Supplier Management: Evaluate, manage, and guide suppliers, establishing tolerances and defining acceptance criteria.
- Team Leadership & Support: Provide R&D support, instruct technicians, train staff, and oversee testing tasks. Offer feedback and coordinate technician activities.
- Technical Evaluation: Evaluate input, propose technical recommendations, and design components and subsystems.
- Employee Guidance: Mentor junior staff on standard procedures and troubleshooting.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with 4 years of experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or Ph.D. with equivalent experience.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office and CAD tools (PTC Creo required), knowledge of product lifecycle management tools (Windchill).
- Design Control, technical documentation required.
- Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with lab or industrial equipment.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership abilities and the capacity to influence organizational change.
- Adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards in medical device manufacturing.
