Senior Accountant

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles and practices, with a focus on corporate and governmental accounting. This role requires proficiency in budgeting, financial report writing, and a solid understanding of financial acumen. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage the budgeting process, including the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.
• Perform double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
• Conduct regular audits of financial records to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage for efficient financial management.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or related fields.
• Strong skills in budgeting, financial report writing, and overall financial acumen.
• Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks and Sage is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
