Position: US M&A and Planning Tax Consultant
Location: East Hanover, NJ (Remote)
Job Description:
- Consultant would conduct detailed due diligence on potential M&A projects and provide a detailed written summary of findings. In cases of potential issues, Consultant would first perform tax technical research and then discuss with team as necessary.
- Consultant would review contracts, provide any necessary analyses and updates, and discuss negotiation strategies.
- Consultant would provide a hand-off to the integration team and assist in the integration process, including Opening Balance Sheet, Section 382 calculations, and stub period tax returns.
- Consultant needs to have a broad understanding of US Federal, State and Local, and International tax as well as tax accounting. Consultant needs to be highly tax technical and able to perform complicated US tax technical research. Consultant also needs relevant M&A tax experience of at least 5 years and broad US tax experience of at least 10 years. It's highly preferred for Consultant to have Big 4 accounting firm, Big Law, and/or large multinational company experience.
- Same cost center (S512 for US Tax)
Need experience with specific Form 1118/Foreign Source Income knowledge. This is a highly specialized area that generally only people with deep US international tax knowledge would have (the rules and regulations are 1,000 pages long).
