Job Summary: The catering service worker position is vital to achieving excellent customer service and executing catering events. They are responsible for pulling equipment for event set-up, transporting materials and food to the event, setting up the event, serving guests, cleaning up after the event, and returning equipment to the Catering Department in the designated storage area.
Pay: $13.00-$15.00 per hour
This is a part-time position.
Available Shift: 7:00 AM-2:00 PM (exact shift times may vary)
Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Free (Fully Paid by Employer) after 60 days
Catering Food Service Worker Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prepare banquet room for the function
- Display excellent customer service and maintains a well-groomed, neat appearance
- Serve meals and beverages in accordance with catering protocol
- Properly sets tables for special functions
- Wipe and polish silverware
- Load and unload event equipment into catering vehicles, following all truck safety procedures in compliance with DOT regulation
- Clean all function areas upon completion
- Perform opening and closing side work as needed
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Maintain storage rooms and supplies in an orderly fashion
- Maintain equipment and all other catering supplies
- Understand the proper use of and storage of chemicals used in the location. Be familiar with the chemicals MSDS book and its contents.
- Report all injuries immediately to your manager/supervisor
Catering Food Service Worker Additional Job Functions:
- Assist in other areas as needed
- Adhere to weekly/monthly cleaning schedules as posted by management
- Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the management team
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibility.
Catering Food Service Worker Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to effectively communicate and understand directions
- Must be able to understand safety rules, Bridgeman Hospitality Alcohol Regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
- Excellent customer service and a positive attitude
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be willing to perform a variety of tasks as assigned
- Must be well groomed / professional attire
- Must be able to deal with students/guests courteously and efficiently
Catering Food Service Worker Desired Qualifications:
- 1 year banquet/wait staff experience
- Ability to carry at least 4 meals on a tray at any given time
- Bartending experience
- TIPS Certified
