Triple C Housing is a well-founded, grass-roots organization that has helped to make the dream of living independently with dignity become a reality for those they serve throughout Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties. As Triple C Housing continues to respond to the rising need for affordable supportive housing in our communities, we are looking for a Facilities Technician to keep up with the maintenance of our properties due to new growth in the agency. Note: This is a grant-funded position expected to last through December 2026.
Demonstrate competence in assessing and performing quality work on a priority basis to maintain the safety and functionality of all facilities, equipment, and vehicles as assigned. Possess knowledge and hands-on ability in the trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, minor electrical, minor appliance and household repair, as well as preventive maintenance for residential properties. Works independently to assess, organize, and prioritize all duties to operate in the most efficient and effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: general repairs and maintenance, basic plumbing, carpentry, minor appliance repair or installation, painting, minor electrical, window and screen repair, site maintenance, vehicle maintenance, ground maintenance, interior and exterior cleaning of facilities as needed, etc.
- Timely completion of work orders for needed repairs and maintenance at Agency properties and update property management software accordingly.
- Perform some light landscaping/gardening and yard work as needed.
- Coordinate and consult with external contractors on larger jobs and projects.
- Respond to facilities emergencies during normal business hours in a timely manner.
- Participate in facilities on-call schedule and respond to emergencies in a timely manner.
- Responsibly handle petty cash and/or company credit card, making sure to complete monthly reconciliation with proper receipts.
- Assist with tenant move-ins, move-outs and transfers within Agency housing locations when needed, by moving lifting and moving furniture, assisting with set-up.
- Assist with office set up and general maintenance as needed.
Experience
- Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-hour training required or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
- Graduation from High School or Vocational School or possession of an approved High School Equivalent Certificate.
- Vocational school or technical training in maintenance and repair, construction trade, or 1 year of maintenance experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate cargo/passenger van/truck used to transport needed supplies to properties.
