About The Position...
The General Superintendent will play a key role in managing and overseeing our commercial & residential projects. This individual will be responsible for all day-to-day field operations by monitoring and administering, all construction projects from start through customer delivery. The duties of this job require a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in construction means and methods, scheduling, and maintaining established standards of quality, accuracy, and excellence.
- Ensure the appropriate pre-construction inspections occur and projects are ready for scheduled inspections.
- Establish construction priorities to achieve all deliverables on time for each project.
- Ensure appropriate labor, materials, and equipment are on each respective site.
- Identifies, schedules, and monitors training for field personnel (safety and job specific).
- Resolves field changes expeditiously by working with municipal staff, design team, and project managers in a respectful and confident manner.
- Ensure start packages are prepared, completed, and coordinated for issuance to superintendents.
- Ensure schedule updates and variances are completed in the current software and relayed to the project manager or customer.
- Issues purchase orders, change orders, and budget revisions via established software and in coordination with project managers.
- Management of construction fleet, equipment, and tools of field staff.
- Responsible for maintaining customer confidence by determining work requirements and addressing concerns timely and professionally.
- Assists the Director of Construction with CST field employees, hiring, terminations, and training
- Approves and monitors the use of overtime in coordination with The Director of Construction.
- Monitors and approves PTO schedules to ensure the workforce is capable of meeting production schedules.
- Leads weekly production meetings with field staff.
- In coordination with the Director of Construction, oversees the Quality Partner program on assigned projects.
- Enforce all safety programs, rules, and procedures and participates in the corporate safety team.
What we are looking for from you...
- The travel range for this location will currently fall between Boyertown, PA to Carlisle, PA
- Minimum of 12 years combined experience with construction and construction management
- Must have proven ability to schedule projects/personnel and meet schedules within determined deadlines
- Working experience with all phases of Site Work, Commercial and Residential construction
- Highly Proficient in computerized systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, Smartsheet, Outlook, and mobile devices
- Ability to work closely with customers, construction personnel, personnel in other work groups, contractors, suppliers, and other team members
- Experience in Design-Build and Value Engineering management is preferred
- Must have a solid command of construction fundamentals and OSHA requirements
- Ability to work from drawings and blueprints
- Ability to produce and maintain reports
- Must have valid driver’s license
