We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join our team. The QMA will be responsible for setting up, administering, and recording prescribed medications for residents in accordance with their individualized care plans. This critical role is performed under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in full compliance with state regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties:
- Prepare and administers ordered medications safely and documents and prescribes oral, eye, nasal, and ear medications to residents
- Prepare and administers topical medications to intact skin
- Administer PRN medications only when authorized by a licensed nurse
- Check physician’s orders against medication administration records
- Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all drugs/medications and maintains a clean working environment
- Keep medication cart locked while unattended
- Report resident needs and current conditions to the charge nurse, ADON or DON as applicable
- Obtain vital signs as directed by the charge nurse and communicate results to the nurse on duty
- Keep nurse on duty informed of pertinent resident conditions in a timely manner
- Answer call lights/pendants, pull-pin cords, and security care bracelet alarms promptly and courteously
Work Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma required
- Completion of a state-approved training program in medication administration and clean certification
- Current/active CPR certification
- Strong organizational and time management skills, prioritizing and accomplishing multiple responsibilities
- Work independently, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and be a positive leader
- Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills
- Maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned
