Summary of Position
Triple Crown Sports is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Field/Site Director to oversee and manage all games at an assigned field or complex during our tournaments. This role is important to ensuring smooth event operations, addressing team and umpire needs, and maintaining field conditions throughout the event weekend.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, professional, and comfortable handling game-day logistics while working closely with the Tournament Director.
Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Arrive at the field at least one hour before the first scheduled game.
- Welcome teams and guests, providing a positive and friendly experience.
- Check in teams before their first game (when applicable) and confirm the readiness of both teams to start play at the designated time
- Confirm the field is prepared for play, coordinating with the grounds crew if necessary.
- Verify the presence of umpires on the property before games
- Ensure all games start on time
- Present yourself in a professional manner with customers, players, staff, etc.
- Ensure smooth operation at the assigned field.
- Manage scorecards
- Fill out the front of the scorecard and provide it to head coaches.
- Collect the completed scorecard from the umpire after the game.
- Ensure all game results and pitching information are recorded correctly.
- Report scores and pitching stats via smartphone / tablet or similar to the Tournament Director immediately after each game
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Knowledge of baseball/softball rules is a plus (training provided).
- Ability to perform light field maintenance tasks
- Comfortable using a smartphone / tablet or similar for score reporting
Schedule & Compensation
- Weekend availability required (Friday-Sunday, depending on the tournament).
- Note: the Omaha SlumpBuster plays June 11th to June 23rd
- Daily pay rate of $183
