Job Summary
The role of the Plant Technician is responsible performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the production goals and corporate values of Triplex Plating. Must adhere to established safety and efficiency standards.
Basic qualifications
- Must be 18 years old
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in Maintenance Manufacturing
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers
- Available to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required
- Willing to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including all PPE requirements
Essential job functions are:
- Schedules and proactively conduct preventative maintenance activities while recognizing opportunities for equipment improvements as well as provide feedback to prevent future failures before they occur.
- Perform operator duties to diagnose problematic situations
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
- Install new equipment in a timely manner
- Completes enhancement projects or change outs for production safety, capability, or capacity
- Coordinates and completes special projects as directed by Plant Manager and/or leadership
- Meet standards for completion of all assignments including cleaning up work area and putting all tools and equipment away
- Participate in cross training opportunities to maximize operation effectiveness
- Utilize personal protective equipment and continuously adheres to safety guidelines
- Detects faulty operation and/or defective materials and reports to proper management
- Address any problems to ensure quality control per instructions and guidelines; reports defective materials and equipment
- Measures and tests instruments
- Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts-Installs special functional and structural parts in devices-Starts devices to test their performance for appropriate amount of time prior to determining job is complete.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair.
- Effectively ensures compliance with plant rules of conduct.
- Effectively ensure compliance with the concepts or recognizing and serving internal and external customers. Understand the flow of material through your areas of responsibility. Monitor and effectively manage equipment that limits/restricts the flow of product through production.
- Be able to quickly and effectively troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic failures to restore equipment to production ready state.

Work Environment
Consistent exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), dust, odors, fumes in door and outdoor. Noise level is moderate to loud.
Physical Demands
- May be required to stand for long periods of time
- May involve some repetitive motions
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
- May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of production equipment
- Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold

Required Education and Experience
- 5 years’ experience in similar role
- Ability to read, interpret and understand diagrams and blueprints
