The Role

Responsibilities include specification, procurement, deployment readiness, brand implementation, analytics, financial management, and disposition of fleet vehicles. This role will also work to ensure compliance with maintenance programs, safety standards, licensing, and registration. Equipped with pragmatic transportation/logistics operations experience, ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong mix of hands-on leadership, data-driven performance, and vehicle sourcing expertise.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the full lifecycle of ~2,000 passenger (non-CDL) vehicles across North America
Lead and develop a team of 5-8 fleet coordinators
Manage fleet maintenance partner network, parts, technology, and overall vehicle availability for client operations
Proactively identify and develop leading predictive maintenance capabilities and maintenance processes
Develop recommendations and strategies to maximize vehicle reliability and financial performance
Coordinate with operational client teams and maintenance partner network to maximize vehicle availability and ensure compliance with timely, cost-effective maintenance programs
Ensure compliance with mechanical safety standards, proper licensing and registration, and overall fleet performance
Research, recommend, and source the best vehicle platforms for client applications in coordination with the Finance Team
Negotiate, source, and deploy more than 500 vehicles annually
Develop and manage critical partner relationships with key vehicle manufacturers, maintenance providers, and vehicle disposition brokers
Assess the performance and cost profiles of maintenance partners and make changes and adjustments to maximize the effectiveness of maintenance across North America locations
Gain leading knowledge in new vehicle platforms, including electric vehicles
Sustain fleet branding standards based on direction from the Marketing Team
Recruit and manage maintenance and fleet team staffing at all times
Enthusiasm for 100% onsite leadership at our offices in Lenexa, Kansas (this is not a remote or hybrid position)
Qualifications
6 years leadership experience managing fleet teams and large, nationwide passenger vehicle fleets
Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business, Operations, Fleet Management, Maintenance Management or related field
Exceptional customer service, communication, and leadership skills
Strong experience with fleet management software
Leadership experience with geographically diverse teams
Track record of leading and maintaining critical partner relationships with key related partners
Experience developing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring safety standards
Methodically well-organized
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365 productivity tools
Experience with analytics and Power BI is a strong plus
Asserts ownership for projects and assigned activities, meets deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving skills
Thrives in fast-paced environments
