Position : Electrical Controls Engineer
Skills Overview : Programming of Allen-Bradley PLCs or CODESYS PLC systems (Bosch RexRoth preferred, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.), PLC hardware, software platforms, and HMI programming, capital equipment design and service.
Trisian-Global Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to work on-site in Elgin, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and controls systems, with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful projects. Responsible for the conceptual design, component specification, system hardware design and programming. Will work closely with other engineers and technical staff. Responsibilities also include providing engineering support for field service technicians and providing technical training at client facilities as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop electrical control systems for manufacturing processes, including PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that control systems meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget
- Ability to read and troubleshoot ladder logic within motion controls. including programming of servo drives (AB)
- Customize program features based on customer specifications
- Run initial commissioning of machines using the developed program. Debugging any issues that may occur during initial testing.
- Collaborate with team on research and development projects that could be implemented on future projects.
- Create wiring schematic, program diagrams, and complete bill of materials.
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper functionality and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to control systems, including hardware and software malfunctions
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and user manuals
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in control systems technology, and make recommendations for improvement when necessary
- Provide technical support to clients and project teams as needed
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols when working with electrical systems
- Travel to client sites as required for project installations and support
- Up to 20% domestic travel may be required, international travel is a possibility.
Qualifications :
Familiarity with electrical codes and standards, such as NEC and UL
